From its origins in the Powder River Basin to its current operations in the Appalachian Basin, Antero Resources has grown into one of the largest natural gas producers in the U.S. We credit our history of success to identifying and developing the most promising unconventional reservoirs.

Our History

1998

Paul Rady and Glen Warren co-found Pennaco Energy (AMEX:PN) and build it into a highly successful Powder River Basin coal bed methane producer

2001

Rady and Warren sell Pennaco to Marathon Oil

2002

Antero is formed to pursue unconventional resource opportunities

2005

Antero builds Barnett Shale business (private) into the 2nd largest producer in the play and sells to XTO Energy

2008

Antero acquires 115,000 acres in the Marcellus Shale in the Appalachian Basin from Dominion Energy

2009

Antero successfully drills its first operated Marcellus wells

2012

Antero sells the Arkoma Basin and Piceance Basin assets to redeploy capital to higher-return Marcellus and Utica shales.

Antero forms "Antero Midstream Partners" to drive midstream infrastructure buildout

2013

Antero Resources successfully completes the largest independent E&P IPO to-date at $1.8 billion

2014

Antero Midstream Partners completes a $1.15 billion IPO, the lowest-yielding and largest MLP IPO to-date

2017

Antero Midstream GP successfully completes $875MM IPO

Antero Midstream Partners forms a 50/50 processing & fractionation joint venture with MLPX with $800 million of new project inventory

2018

Antero surpasses 3 Bcfe/d of production and becomes the largest NGL producer in the US
