Antero Resources is an exploration and production (E&P) company focused on acquiring and developing unconventional natural gas resources in North America. Unconventional play types for Antero include tight sands, fractured shale and coal bed methane.
Antero has operations in the Piceance Basin in Colorado and the Arkoma and Ardmore Basins in Oklahoma. Antero sold its Barnett Shale business to XTO Energy in April 2005 after successfully drilling 250 wells in the play and building gross operated production to 150 MMcf per day.
