Antero Resources is an exploration and production (E&P) company focused on acquiring and developing unconventional natural gas resources in North America. Unconventional play types for Antero include tight sands and fractured shales.
Antero has operations in the Piceance Basin in Colorado, the Arkoma and Ardmore Basins in Oklahoma, and the Appalachian Basin in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The company recently acquired 117,000 net acres in the Marcellus Shale Play in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Antero sold its Barnett Shale business to XTO Energy in April 2005 after successfully drilling 250 wells in the play and building gross operated production to 150 MMcf per day.
Antero currently has 115 MMcf per day of gross operated production (115 MMcf per day net including non-operated production).
